The Bundesliga has a big one on tap…
During a matchday that included a game between Bayern Munich vs. Eintracht Frankfurt, the spotlight will shine most brightly on Borussia Dortmund vs. RB Leipzig.
For BVB coach Niko Kovač, there is a lot to take in.
“Leipzig have done a lot of things well in their last four games and won those matches. They are rightly in third place and you can see that the team is making progress. One advantage is certainly that they only play once a week,” Kovač said (as released by Borussia Dortmund’s social media team).
Kovač has credit the persistence of his team’s attack so far this season.
“We try to get into the box as much as possible and create chances. Many teams sit very deep against us, so it’s not always easy. We have the quality to score a lot of goals from few chances,” Kovač stated.
Finally. Kovač touted former Bayern Munich midfielder Marcel Sabitzer for his strong play.
“Sabi is a player who can play in several positions. He has a lot of experience and can play aggressively. He sets the pace in counter-pressing, is tough in tackles, and holds our midfield together,” Kovač remarked.
As for RB Leipzig, attacker Antonio Nusa is looking forward to the showdown.
“We’re obviously full of confidence, but, first and foremost, we need to play the match. It will be a real challenge and a big game. I’m really looking forward to it. Dortmund are a good team,” Nusa told the club website. “(Signal Iduna Park) is incredible. As a kid, you dream of playing in these kinds of games at places like this. It will be a close game. Both teams are in great form. I can’t wait.”
