New York Jets receiver Garrett Wilson put pen to paper on a four-year, $130 million deal in the offense after three years of high-quality production.

But given the Jets haven't even sniffed success since 2022 (Wilson's first season), with the Jets having a 19-32 record and never getting close to the playoffs, some might have thought it was an odd decision to stay with the franchise considering that under Aaron Glenn, it was going to be tough sledding getting out of their current situation.

Wilson was asked this week what his message to people would as to why he chose to stay as a Jet amid what is no doubt a struggling time for the franchise.

And his answer? Yeah, it was good.

"This is about me, I got to go home at night and feel good about the decisions I make,” Wilson said. “I love it here, man. These people have bought into me since I was a college kid. This is where I want to be, this is where I want to win at. For me, it's about where you do it at. I truly believe that the guys that have been around here have gone through these last few years and what we’re battling to get out of, it’ll make it that much more beautiful."

Wilson continues to be Jets' shining light

Yeah, the Jets might be 0-4, but Wilson is doing all he can to help push this offense along with Justin Fields.

Through the first month of the season, Wilson has already hauled in 27 receptions for 311 yards and three touchdowns as he is on pace to have a 1,322-yard season, which would easily be the best of his career.

Granted, there is a long way to go before we start looking at that, but it is clear Wilson is as focused as ever to bring success to New York and yeah, things might be a bit tough right now, and as Garrett stated, when that success does come, it'll make it all the sweeter.

Why? Because he chose to stick around during the bad times.
