Max Eberl looking forward to a boost at Bayern Munich…
Per a report from Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich goalkeeper Jonas Urbig is not ready yet:
Jonas Urbig still hasn’t resumed team training. The goalkeeper completed a 30-minute session with goalkeeping coach Michael Rechner, followed by another 15 minutes with rehab coach Benjamin Sommer. Urbig remains a doubt for the game against Frankfurt. Sven Ulreich is likely to sit on the bench as #2 again on Saturday.
With Manuel Neuer still serving a suspension, Urbig is expected to start in Bayern Munich’s DFB-Pokal match on October 29th, so having some time to get back in form is vital for the youngster.
Stanišić getting close?
Per FCBayern.com, Josip Stanišić was back on the pitch running and is eyeing a return to team training:
There was more good news from the training ground on Säbener Straße on Thursday morning. Josip Stanišić is continuing his running training, having already returned to the pitch last Monday. Now, the 25-year-old’s next goal is to return to team training. Stanišić suffered a partial injury to the medial ligament in his right knee during a Champions League match against Chelsea in mid-September.
Bild (via @iMiaSanMia) said that the defender will be out another two weeks:
Josip Stanišić is very unlikely to feature for Croatia in this month’s World Cup qualifiers, even though he was included in their preliminary squad. He’s expected to be sidelined for another two weeks.
Kim sat out with injury
Bayern Munich center-back Kim Min-jae picked up a knock against Pafos and had to sit out of practice today per Bild (via @iMiaSanMia):
Kim Min-jae did not train with the team today. The defender suffered a painful knock against Pafos but played through it for the rest of the game. He was rested today as a precautionary measure. Bayern won’t take any risks with him.
Eberl wants injured players back
Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl is eagerly anticipating the returns of injured stars Alphonso Davies, Jamal Musiala, and Hiroki Itō.
“We had a summer period with external new signings and will still have ‘internal transfers’ when the players get healthy again. We hope that all three can be on the pitch this year. Without putting any pressure on them, because all three of them have long-term, serious injuries,” Eberl told Sky Germany journalist Kerry Hau (via @iMiaSanMia)
If all three players can come back healthy and ready, it will be a massive boost to Bayern munich. However, proceeding with caution will be vital. Coming back too early could result in unnecessary setbacks — something the club will surely want to avoid at all costs.
Welcome to Bavarian Podcast Works — Edges and Underdogs, a BuLi Action Show!
