An analyst has told a rising 20-year-old Belgian international not to join Chelsea and explained his reasons why.
Chelsea are snapping up all the young talents around the globe since the new ownership have come in as is part of a new recruitment strategy to get the next biggest world class players before they become world class and too expensive.
EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea make contact to sign international centre back in the January window!!
It’s a strategy that has come under a lot of criticism and has a lot of flaws and negatives about it. And for me, it also lacks essential balance needed for the here and now. Some players will come in and prove to be good enough to play for Chelsea and improve the team, but many others will not and either just fade away, be loaned out, or get sold on after a season or two like many have done already.
I feared that this way of operating might put off some players coming to join the club, and this is what we are seeing in this story at least.

Dutch football analyst Marc Degryse has been speaking about the future of Belgian international Arthur Vermeeren.
He said:
“What [Arthur] Vermeeren absolutely mustn’t do is go to a club like Chelsea or Manchester United, where they buy thirty or forty players and then loan you out. Arthur Vermeeren will ruin his career if he does that!”
Strong words
I do wonder if these strong words are an opinion that is shared around the world with players, or whether this is just an isolated opinion. As I say, it is a fear I’ve had with the club operating in this way.
