Alex Wollschlaeger pops up on Kentucky vs. Georgia Injury Report

Kentucky gets Zach Calzada and Aba Selm back, while several key players remain questionable.

The SEC released its Friday night availability report as Kentucky prepares for Saturday’s noon kickoff against No. 12 Georgia, and the Wildcats received some encouraging news on the offensive side of the ball.

Seventh-year senior Quarterback Zach Calzada and offensive lineman Aba Selm, who had both been listed earlier this week as probable, are officially off the availability report and cleared to play. Their return provides a boost for a Kentucky team looking to bounce back after last week’s loss.

However, there are still lingering question marks. Defensive back DJ Waller Jr. and inside linebacker Devin Smith remain listed as questionable, while offensive lineman Alex Wollschlaeger was added to the list late Friday as questionable as well. That would be a big loss, as Wollschlaeger is Kentucky’s starting right tackle.

The Wildcats will be hoping for better news come Saturday morning, when the SEC issues its final pregame report for Kentucky versus Georgia at 10:30 a.m. ET, which is 90 minutes before kickoff against Georgia.

Meanwhile, the list of players who remain out has not changed. Running back Jamarion Wilcox, defensive backs Nasir Addison and Jaden Smith, defensive lineman Nic Smith, wide receivers David Washington Jr. and Preston Bowman, along with tight end Elijah Brown, are all unavailable.

The return of Selm helps to add another player to the offensive line, while Calzada’s availability will help in case Kentucky has to take Cutter Boley out during the game. The bigger question will be if Waller will be good to go, as he has now missed three straight games, and with his impact, he could slow down the high-powered Georgia offense.

The Wildcats (2-2, 0-2 SEC) will face a challenging task against the Bulldogs, hoping to exact revenge after losing to Alabama last week.
