Another big game, and unfortunately, another loss for Penn State.
Are Penn State making changes to the offensive line after loss to Oregon? originally appeared on The Sporting News
Another big game for James Franklin and the Penn State Nittany Lions, and unfortunately another tally in the loss column.
In the Oregon Ducks' 30-24 win, they recorded two sacks on Drew Allar and five tackles for loss during the contest, making many wonder if head coach Franklin would be making any adjustments to the front lines of the Nittany Lion offense to further protect Allar going forward.
However, according to the man himself, there is nothing to worry about.
Franklin Believes the Same Group of Lineman Will Start For Penn State
In a pregame press conference as Penn State prepares to face the UCLA Bruins, Franklin addressed the issues surrounding the offensive line, and didn't mention any changes to the front five.
“I think it’s the same group of guys,” Franklin said. “Cooper Cousins and TJ Shanahan Jr., as well. I think it’s the same group of guys. I think, you know, we’d like to create a little bit more flexibility and get that group playing consistently. But no, I think it’s the same group of guys.”
After all, the question after the game against the Ducks should be whether the Ducks defensive line was that good or if the Nittany Lions offensive line just simply had an off night.
The line has only allowed five sacks thus far, top 30 in the country, and Oregon was by far their toughest opponent in the 2025 slate thus far, so a change in pace is likely to blame, but the team can't let it happen many more times this season if they're wanting to head back to the College Football Playoff this year.
