Lincoln-Way East senior and USC commit Jonas Williams set the Illinois high school career passing touchdown record Friday, throwing four TDs in a 42-6 win over Metea Valley to push his total to 131 and lift the Griffins to 6-0 on the season, according to Shaw Media.

The record had been 128, held by Greenville's Tyler Hutchinson (2012-14) and Aurora Christian's Jordan Roberts (2005-08).

Williams, a four-year starter who began at Bolingbrook before transferring to Lincoln-Way East, produced 37 TDs as a freshman, 33 as a sophomore and 42 last year while helping the Griffins reach the Class 8A semifinals. He is also closing in on the state career passing yards mark after entering the season with 8,859 yards. That record is held by Nazareth's Logan Malachuk at 11,190 (2021-24).
