Lions vs Bengals will now be broadcast in many more markets on Sunday
Good news for Lions fans in the southern United States for this Sunday. The matchup between the Lions and Bengals in Cincinnati is now going to be broadcast in several more markets than initially scheduled.
Sunday's late-afternoon kickoff will be broadcast on FOX, with Kevin Kugler and Daryl Johnston on the call. The other FOX broadcast game in that window is the Chargers vs Commanders matchup, and that game was initially thought to have broader out-of-market appeal. However, key injuries to both teams watered down that interconference matchup.
Of course, the Lions are heavy favorites to beat the Joe Burrow-less Bengals. Detroit's growing appeal as an in-demand viewing option is a clear factor here, too.
The updated viewing map from 506 Sports shows the markets in blue that will get to watch the Lions on the local FOX affiliate for the 4:20 p.m. kickoff.
Most of the country, including all of Michigan except the extreme southwest (South Bend IN market), will get the Cowboys vs. Jets broadcast as the early game on FOX. The Packers and Bears are each on a bye this weekend.
