Former NFL quarterback and FOX Sports analyst Mark Sanchez was stabbed in downtown Indianapolis overnight.
He was in town to call the Indianapolis Colts home game on Oct. 5.
FOX Sports confirmed in a Oct. 4 social media post that Sanchez, 38, was injured in Indianapolis and is in the hospital recovering.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said in an email that two men were involved in a verbal argument that turned physical in an alleyway in the 300 block of W. Washington Street near the Indiana Statehouse. The other man involved suffered "lacerations" and was treated and released, according to police.

Neither men are local residents, police said.
Police said the case will be submitted to the Marion County Prosecutor's Office for charging consideration.
Who is Mark Sanchez?
Sanchez led college football in passing yards and touchdown passes while a quarterback at the University of Southern California from 2006 to 2008. He was selected as a first-round, fifth-overall pick by the New York Jets in the 2009 NFL Draft.
For the bulk of his career, Sanchez played under center for the Jets, going 33-29. He later played for the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys and Washington.
Sanchez joined FOX as an analyst in 2021 after retiring from the league. As part of his role with FOX, Sanchez was in town to call the Indianapolis Colts game at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 5. The Colts kick off against the Las Vegas Raiders at 1 p.m.
Chris Meyers will be on the call while Sanchez was scheduled to provide the game analysis. On the sidelines will be Kristina Pink.
