Eintracht Frankfurt couldn't land a punch on Bayern Munich this evening. The 3-0 defeat was particularly hard to take for Nathaniel Brown who vowed the team can do better.
"It feels very bitter. We had high hopes – then we concede 1-0 after just a few seconds. That's football, I can't explain it. We quickly picked ourselves back up but we had a goal ruled out [for handball].
"Bayern's quality was evident when they conceded the second goal. I can't blame the team; we fought and ran – but in the end, it's Bayern.
“We all want to defend, but we're conceding too many goals at the moment. We need to change that quickly. Everyone has a role to play, including me,” said the full-back.
The Hessen club's sporting director Markus Krösche was similarly disappointed but acknowledged that the Bavarians are hard to play against in their current state.
"You always need a good run of play against Bayern. We didn't have that in the first half, with the 15-second deficit and the equalizer that we pulled back.
“Bayern are in a class of their own in this form; they have incredible quality with and without the ball. To beat them, you need top form and a good run of play,” Krösche added.
