Carson Wentz injury update not good for Vikings vs. Browns in London

This doesn't seem ideal.

Carson Wentz injury update not good for Vikings vs. Browns in London originally appeared on The Sporting News

Carson Wentz took off sprinting for the locker room.

The bad news for the Minnesota Vikings: The first half wasn't over when Wentz left.

Wentz needed to be evaluated for injury, and apparently, there was no time to waste.

He was initially deemed questionable to return by the Vikings. He's dealing with a left shoulder injury.

Wentz hurt the shoulder on a third-down run on the Vikings' possession late in the second quarter.

He actually had two runs in the second quarter that ended in big collisions as Wentz sought out the first-down marker on third down.

Wentz is already standing in for J.J. McCarthy, who has been out with an ankle injury.

If Wentz can't continue, rookie Max Brosmer will have to play.

Brosmer is an undrafted rookie out of the nearby University of Minnesota.

In the preseason, Brosmer earned a lot of fans with his play.

The Vikings even got rid of Sam Howell this offseason, although they replaced him with Wentz. But that was also in part because they believe in Brosmer's future.

They probably didn't want him playing this early, but it's now in play.

We'll wait and see whether Wentz comes out of the halftime locker room to play.
