As he began to navigate NIL at Notre Dame, Jeremiyah Love decided to take a calculated approach. He remained selective with the deals he signed as he rose to national prominence during last year’s run to the national championship game.

While speaking with On3 on behalf of Samsung – his latest NIL deal, as part of Team Galaxy – Love also shared his advice for athletes navigating the space. He said to keep the focus on football and let the work put in on the field translate to off-field success, as well.

Love recalled when he arrived at Notre Dame in 2023, he didn’t have any NIL opportunities. But as he put in the work and became one of the most-talked-about running backs in the country, the deals presented themselves. It was part of his goal to make sure those partnerships are “worth something.”

“Keep the main thing the main thing,” Love said via Zoom. “If you’re going out there and performing on the field, all that other stuff will come later. As far as looking back on my journey, I didn’t start off with having some big NIL deals. I started off having none. I came into college not having any deals. But I put my head down, grinded, did the things I had to do on the field and all that stuff just came naturally. I would say don’t focus on NIL and all the money or whatever. Just don’t focus on it.

“Focus on football. Because at the end of the day, if you perform on the field, all that other stuff will come. When it comes, you’ll feel like you’ve earned it. You don’t want anything to just be given to you. If it’s easy, it’s probably not good. You want to work for things. You want it to be worth something.”

At $1.5 million, Jeremiyah Love’s On3 NIL Valuation ranks 29th in the college football NIL rankings. He also sits at No. 49 in the On3 NIL 100, the first of its kind and de facto NIL ranking of the Top 100 high school and college athletes ranked by their On3 NIL Valuation. Repped by Athletes First, Love has also signed deals with New Balance and Celsius this year, in addition to his recent partnership with Samsung.

“Samsung is different,” Love said. “I think that they’re taking a very unique approach when it comes to athletes and trying to get into that realm of things. I recently just had a little piece released on myself in general, about just being yourself and not straying away from things as far as who you are. And I feel like Samsung has taken that approach in this campaign.

“They’re going to be themselves. They’re not going to stray away from the things that they value. I’m just proud to be part of this team.”
