It's dark times in Baltimore.
Ravens' season 'spiraling out of control' after Texans horror show originally appeared on The Sporting News
The Baltimore Ravens are struggling to keep their heads above the playoff water after a brutal 44-10 loss to the Houston Texans, with Cooper Rush filling in for Lamar Jackson.
The Ravens' offense never got going, with the defense again proving to be the team's Achilles heel, as yet again, more than 30+ points were given up, and with Rush under center, that isn't a sustainable way to live.
Now sitting at 1-4 with the Los Angeles Rams up next, things aren't looking good for Baltimore's playoff hopes, and for CBS Sports' John Breech, he gave Baltimore an "F" grade, while stating the season is slowly slipping away.
"The Ravens might have the worst defense in football," Breech writes. "They can't stop the run, they can't stop the pass and they can't get after the quarterback. Lamar Jackson didn't play in this game, but even if he did play, it might not have mattered because Baltimore's defense is that bad. At 1-4, the Ravens' season is spiraling out of control."

Can Ravens still make the playoffs?
You will be hard-pressed to find a person on the planet who will say yes with any sort of confidence, and Jackson won't be back until Week 7, so if Baltimore loses next week and drops to 1-5, can Lamar lead this team on the comeback of all comebacks?
Granted, the Ravens were winning even with Jackson under center (1-3), but the two-time MVP winner did have the team in position to win games.
But coming in after weeks on the sidelines and nearly having to run the table just to make the playoffs might be a taller order even for a player of Jackson's caliber.
Baltimore can make the playoffs, but it looks anything but a playoff team right now.
