Dalton Kincaid is off to an excellent start to his third NFL season, and the Buffalo Bills tight end turned things up a notch Sunday night.

The former University of Utah standout caught six passes for a career-high 108 receiving yards, though the Bills came up short in a 23-20 loss to the New England Patriots at home in Highmark Stadium.

The Patriots controlled the game’s momentum for much of the night before rookie Andres Borregales’ 52-yard field goal with 15 seconds to play gave New England the win.

Buffalo was the final unbeaten team in the NFL to lose its first game of the season.

Kincaid’s six receptions Sunday night tied a season high, and he caught every pass that was thrown his way from Josh Allen.

That included receptions of:

  • 15 yards on the second snap of the game for the Bills offense
  • 20 yards on a third-and-4 play to move the ball to midfield on Buffalo’s first drive before a turnover (fumble) on the next snap
  • 13 yards on the first play of second quarter on a drive that ended up with a field goal for the Bills’ first points
  • 20 yards on the first drive of the third quarter on a touchdown-scoring possession
  • 17 yards on third-and-5 to move Buffalo to the New England 16 on a possession that ended with a turnover
  • 23 yards on the first play of a touchdown-scoring drive that cut the New England lead to 23-20 in the fourth quarter

It was Kincaid’s first time with a 100-yard receiving game since he entered the NFL. The last time he went over the century mark was his final season at Utah, when he caught five passes for 102 yards and a touchdown in a late-November win over Colorado in 2022.

His previous high in the NFL was 87 receiving yards in the second-to-last regular-season game of his rookie season in 2023.

Kincaid now has 20 receptions for 287 receiving yards and three touchdowns through five games. His 287 receiving yards is currently second among NFL tight ends, trailing only Indianapolis rookie Tyler Warren (307).

His three touchdown receptions is also tied for third among NFL tight ends, trailing only Seattle’s A.J. Barner and Philadelphia’s Dallas Goedert, who both have four.
