Mark van Bommel would be interested in the vacant Rangers job, according to journalist and transfer insider Ben Jacobs. Rangers parted with Russell Martin last night after 17 games in charge of the Ibrox club and are now looking for a new manager. Van Bommel is available having been out of a job since leaving Royal Antwerp in 2024. The Dutchman won the Belgian Pro League at the end of the 2022-23 campaign and was approached by the Light Blues over the summer before Martin got the job.

Rangers are looking for their fifth permanent boss in just under three years and are currently shortlisting candidates, with several names being discussed. Van Bommel also won the Belgian Cup and Belgian Super Cup in 2023, getting named as the Belgian Professional Manager of the Season and winning the Belgian Golden Shoe for coach of the year at the end of that campaign.
