Arsenal have long been a club associated with magestically talented footballers from Dennis Bergkamp and Thierry Henry in the 1990s and 2000s to Martin Ødegaard and Bukayo Saka today.

In between there was several others, notably Liam Brady who made his debut for the Gunners on this day in 1973.

The brilliant Irish midfielder went from boy to man in North London, eventually making 307 appearances, scoring 59 goals and winning both the 1979 FA Cup and PFA Player of the Year award before making a big-time switch to Juventus.

He returned to Arsenal years later in a full circle moment to become the club's Academy director and remains an ambassador to this day.

Just under 40 years after Brady made his debut, Santi Cazorla continued the tradition of midfield maestros with this sublime long range effort to seal a 3-1 win at West Ham.

The Spaniard was only months into his career at the Emirates but had already showed his quality and this was one of many moments to come over the following years.

Amazingly, Cazorla is still playing aged 40 at Real Oviedo despite a catalogue of injuries over the years, with his pure quality not diminishing with age.
