VfB Stuttgart will be without forward Ermedin Demirovic for the time being in a major injury blow for the Bundesliga club.

Stuttgart said on Monday that Demirovic suffered "an incipient fracture of a tarsal bone in his foot" in Sunday’s 1-0 Bundesliga over Heidenheim and will "play no part in training or matches until further notice."

Demirovic, 27, could reportedly be out of action for up to eight weeks.

Demirovic has scored five goals this season and was Stuttgart's most important forward after the summer departure of Nick Woltemade to Newcastle United and Deniz Undav being sidelined with injury.

German Cup winners Stuttgart are fourth in the Bundesliga and next play Wolfsburg on October 18.
