Former Rangers head of communication David Graham says that he "wouldn't be overlooking someone like Stephen Robinson" for the club's head coach vacancy.
Former Rangers head of communication David Graham "wouldn't be overlooking someone like Stephen Robinson" for the club's vacant head coach role.
Rangers are searching for their fifth permanent boss in four years following the sacking of Russell Martin on Sunday after just 17 games in charge.
Graham, who served as head of media relations at Rangers for more than two years, believes St Mirren boss Robinson should be under consideration for the role.
The former Northern Ireland player has had spells at Motherwell and Morecambe and has overseen top-six finishes in the past three seasons with the Buddies.
"Stephen Robinson has done a very good job for a long time, very much under the radar," Graham told BBC Sport NI's Thomas Kane.
"He had a really good record as Northern Ireland Under-21 manager. I feel he was unfairly overlooked for the actual manager's job when Ian Baraclough got the job.
"He rebuilt his career down at Morecambe and has come back up and done really well at St Mirren and done it on a shoestring budget. He understands the league and how to win."

Graham hopeful Davis is future Rangers boss
Graham's main concern with appointing Robinson would be whether the St Mirren manager would be ready for the step up of expectation and pressure associated with leading Rangers.
"I suppose the challenge is can he carry the weight of a club of the magnitude of Rangers," he added.
"Ultimately the proof will be in the pudding, but I wouldn't be overlooking someone like Stephen Robinson."
Graham was also asked if former Rangers captain Steven Davis should be considered for the role.
Davis, Northern Ireland's most capped player, took over as interim Gers boss in October 2023 for two games before Phillipe Clement was appointed and now works as a first team coach for his country.
"I think Steven Davis is a legend at Ibrox, was held in high esteem and was the interim manager briefly," explained Graham.
"Steven has a role at Northern Ireland I suspect he'll not want to give up. If Steven Davis had any role at Ibrox there would be no fan who wouldn't be supportive of that.
"If it's not now for Steven, hopefully it is some time in the future."
