Jets situation 'as bad as it ever was' under Aaron Glenn

These are dark times for the New York Jets, and for a franchise that has more than its fair share over the journey, Aaron Glenn's tenure has gotten off to the worst possible start.

A 0-5 record has the Jets back in that same old place after a depleted Dallas Cowboys team rolled into MetLife Stadium and took their lunch money like a school yard bully...and there was no fight back.

ESPN's Damien Woody called it "atrocious," and you can't argue with that, based on what we saw. Now, ESPN's Rich Cimini poses the question of whether Glenn's message isn't getting through to the players.

"It sure seems that way," Cimini wrote. "The Jets, who dropped to 0-5 for the third time in the past 30 years, continued to regress in all the key areas that Glenn has emphasized since Day 1 -- tackling (14 missed), penalties (10), ball security (another fumble) and situational football. Glenn keeps saying, "We're not the 'Same Old Jets'," but there's no evidence to support his claim. The Jets were outplayed and outcoached by a flawed Dallas team.

"Glenn became the first coach in Jets history to start 0-5 in Year 1. It's as bad as it ever was."

Where to now for Jets?

After just five weeks, the Jets lay battered, bruised, and bloodied on the canvas as they struggle to get a footing in the 2025 season, but there is a positive amidst all of this darkness.

The only way is up, right?

Granted, looking up right now, all Jets fans will see are dark clouds with no sunlight peeking through, but Glenn needs to keep this locker room together, because at times like this, it is easy to go into self-preservation mode, and that's when things can really unravel.

Is it really as bad as it ever was? You'll be hard-pressed to find someone who thinks otherwise.
