ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) — Bills linebacker Matt Milano aggravated his pectoral muscle injury in Sunday night’s loss against the Patriots and coach Sean McDermott says his recovery will be evaluated on a weekly basis.

“He tweaked that pec in the game yesterday,” McDermott said Monday, “so he’s week to week.”

McDermott said Milano is not a candidate to go on injured reserve with the ailment that caused him to miss two games after getting hurt midway through the second game of the season. Milano played for about a half against the Patriots before leaving the game.

Milano’s primary backup Dorian Williams is day to day with the knee injury that caused him to miss Sunday night’s game.

While starting defensive tackle Ed Oliver sat out his fourth consecutive game with an ankle injury, McDermott said the Bills are “hopeful” he can return for this week’s road trip to play the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night.

Hopeful was also how McDermott described the status of center Connor McGovern, who briefly left the game against the Patriots with a hand injury but was able to continue playing. And rookie defensive tackle T.J. Sanders has not been ruled out from returning against the Falcons after he missed the most recent game with a knee injury that occurred during practice.

Rookie cornerback Dorian Strong will see a specialist this week to evaluate his neck injury, McDermott said. Strong was placed on injured reserve prior to Sunday night’s game but the Bills have not yet determined if he will be out for the season.
