Oregon State fired special teams coordinator Jamie Christian on Sunday.

This comes after the Beavers 0-6 start to the season, including a 27-23 road loss on Saturday to Appalachian State. OSU will also do a "program-wide review" going forward.

Athletic director Scott Barnes said he and coach Trent Bray are "reviewing every aspect of the program and committed to making immediate changes."

Christian was in his second year of his second stint at Oregon State after four years at New Mexico. He also spent time at seven other FBS programs, along with two NFL seasons as an assistant with the San Francisco 49ers over the past two decades.

The mistakes have been mounting up for Oregon State. Kicker Caleb Oneda has missed field goals in four games this season, including two blocked attempts vs. Houston. Punter AJ Windsor has three games with five punts or more for total of 28 thus far. The Beavers rank last in the FBS in special teams efficiency.

Bray is 5-13 as Beavers coach since the end of 2023. However, for a team that has lost 12 of its last 13 games there is little room for error. The results of the next six games could be critical. This is the worst start for OSU since 1991.

“I’m not gonna lie, that game hurt us,” Bray said about the Appalachian State loss. “Because that one we expected to win, had multiple opportunities to win, and didn’t. So, won’t even try to lie about that."

Oregon State hosts Wake Forest this coming Saturday (3:30 p.m. ET, CW).
