NBA superstar Damian Lillard doesn't like the direction the Las Vegas Raiders are headed in at quarterback. After Geno Smith has thrown a league leading nine interceptions in five games, he called for Shedeur Sanders to be traded to Sin City.

Lillard, a longtime Raiders fan, posted on social media Monday expressing his frustration with the team’s 1-4 start.

The call from Lillard comes as the Cleveland Browns continue to struggle at quarterback, but have no plans of letting Sanders start as of now. Dillon Gabriel made his first career start in a 21-17 loss in London to the Minnesota Vikings. He went 19-of-33 for 190 yards and two touchdowns. Cleveland dropped to 1-4 after the loss and have yet to score over 17 points in a game this season.

Sanders was the Browns’ fifth-round selection in the 2025 NFL Draft. He was projected ahead of Gabriel but ended up sliding to No. 144th overall and remains inactive as the team’s emergency third quarterback behind Gabriel and Joe Flacco.

Cleveland’s decision to keep Sanders buried on the depth chart has fans restless on when his NFL debut might happen. Many believe the son of Hall of Famer Deion Sanders needs development. But some want to see him thrive outside of Cleveland.

Sanders led the nation in completion percentage (74%) and threw 37 touchdown passes for the Buffaloes last year. He was once projected to be a first-round pick and had pre-draft ties to Raiders minority owner Tom Brady, whose BRADY brand signed him to an NIL deal at Colorado.

For now, Sanders remains as an uncertain option for the Browns, but growing pressure could make things interesting as the regular season rolls on.
