PRINCETON, WV (WVNS) – Senior Running Back Peyton Mounts would not be denied in our Play of the Week from Week 6 of the high school football season.
Mounts took the handoff into a crowd of Sissonville defenders, before busting loose and breaking away down the sideline. When a defender tried to push him out of bounds, Mounts showed off balance and finesse, tiptoeing the out-of-bounds line while staying in bounds, and eventually diving into the endzone for a touchdown.
Mounts’ determination set the tone for a great night for the Panthers, as they dominated Sissonville 54-29.
The victory was PikeView’s fourth of the season, as they improved to 4-1. The program is making massive strides under second-year Head Coach Jack Turner, who took over the program in 2024 following a winless season in 2023.
Turner, Mounts, and the Panthers will be back in action on Friday, October 10, 2025, as they travel to New Richmond to face the Wyoming East Warriors.
