While we are more than halfway through the Iowa high school football regular season, when you take into consideration the extended playoffs, we are exactly at the midway point for those that compete in the championship round.

So, now is a perfect time to let you, the fans, decide who has been the best quarterback to day in Iowa high school football.

Here are the nominees, and feel free to cast as many votes as you like for your favorite. Results will be updated when the poll closes on October 9, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. CT.
Nominees for The Sporting News Iowa high school football quarterback of the year
Brock Badding, Kuemper Catholic: The junior has led one of the more explosive offenses in the state, throwing for 1,511 yards and 21 touchdowns while completing 70 percent of his passes.
Teagan Hanson, GTRA: A standout in the eight-player game, Hanson is 86 of 140 for 1,602 yards with 24 touchdowns and just four interceptions.
Keagan Lee, Easton Valley: Lee has recorded 24 passing TDs, throwing for 1,511 yards on 69 percent completions.
Mack Heitland, Waukee Northwest: Not only are the Wolves unbeaten, but Heitland has yet to throw an interception on 116 pass attempts. He has 1,563 yards and 21 touchdowns.
Cal Bonifas, Bellevue: The senior sits at 1,887 yards passing with 21 touchdowns, completing just over 68 percent. He leads the state in yards passing.
Mick Hoffman, Cascade: Completing over 69 percent of his throws, Hoffman has recorded 20 touchdowns, 1,489 yards and just two picks on 185 attempts.
Cash Parks, Xavier: The name says it all, as Parks has been money, completing over 81 percent of his throws for 1,118 yards with 18 touchdowns and zero interceptions.
Hudson Krukow, Central DeWitt: Another extremely accurate thrower of the football, the senior is hitting on almost 74 percent of his attempts, racking up 1,530 yards and 18 TDs with just one interception.
Mack Murdock, Centerville: The sophomore is rising up recruiting rankings, as he sits at 1,351 yards and 16 TDs against one interception, completing 78 percent overall.
Peyton Welch, South Hardin: Welch has completed 64 percent of his passes with 16 touchdowns, 1,144 yards and just a single interceptions.
Tate Foertsch, Bishop Garrigan: A three-year starter who led the Golden Bears to a state title as a sophomore, Foertsch is back again, hitting on 71 percent of his throws for 816 yards and 15 TDs to zero picks.
Kellen Haverback, Mount Vernon: Haverback has all the tools, throwing for 1,473 yards and 15 touchdowns on 63 percent completions.
Joey Nahas, Dowling Catholic: The arm to an explosive offense, Nahas has thrown for 1,334 yards with 15 TDs, averaging almost 16 yards per completion.
Eli Kampman, Solon: The senior has recorded 14 passing TDs to just one interception, throwing for 1,121 yards.
