It's now official. Injured, Seko Fofana has withdrawn from the October training camp with Côte d'Ivoire.
After an impressive start to the season with Rennes, Seko Fofana was naturally called up by Côte d’Ivoire for the October international break. However, the former Al Nassr midfielder has been forced to pull out, as confirmed by the Federation in a post shared on social media this Monday evening.
"Seko Fofana is out. The midfielder is unavailable for medical reasons (pain in the posterior chain). He will be replaced by Kader Keita of Rapid Bucharest for this October 2025 FIFA window," the statement read. As a reminder, the Elephants currently top Group F, holding just a one-point lead over Gabon in the race for qualification.
