North Jersey has produced the baseball player who broke the color barrier in the American League in Larry Doby (Paterson), one of the greatest U.S. wrestlers of all-time in Bruce Baumgartner (Haledon) and a pioneering basketball Hall of Fame player inCarol Blazejowski (Cranford).
