The NFL always tries to take cheaters seriously. In today’s day and age, there is sometimes a fine line between cheating and trying to gain a competitive advantage, and NFL players find that out the hard way.

The most recent case involves free agent wide receiver and one-time NFL superstar Odell Beckham Jr.

According to the former New York Giants receiver himself, Beckham has “decided to accept” a six-game suspension for a failed PED suspension stemming from last season.

Beckham claims he has never taken a performance-enhancing drug, to his knowledge. While he remains unsigned in free agency, the 32-year-old still plans to play this season.

Beckham did play last season, but the three-time Pro Bowl receiver didn’t do much with the Baltimore Ravens. He appeared in nine games, but didn’t start any. Beckham was targeted just 18 times, but he only managed to haul in nine receptions for 55 yards.

He did have a fairly productive season with Baltimore in 2023, tallying 565 yards and three touchdowns on 35 receptions. Perhaps there’s hope Beckham can return to that level of production later when his suspension is done.

For now, Beckham will have to focus on trying to get in the best game shape possible, hoping that when a team wants to bring him in for a workout, he’s ready to prove he still has what it takes.
