Watch live: McDonald vs. Campbell high school volleyball

CAMPBELL, Ohio (WKBN) – WKBN has a big-time volleyball matchup in the MVAC Scarlet Tier as both McDonald and Campbell will square off for a chance (at least) of the conference championship. The Blue Devils need to win out to secure the Scarlet Tier title. Campbell can still (at least) share the crown.

This Tuesday, we’ll get a glimpse at two of the best volleyball programs in this part of the state when McDonald travels to Campbell for a Scarlet Tier showdown.

Last Meeting
McDonald handed the Red Devils their first loss of the season following a 3-1 win in favor of the Blue Devils. Halle Kuntz (14) and Ava Salomone (10) led McDonald by combining for 24 kills as Miley Titus finished with 27 digs and freshman Grace Klockner had 23 assists. Campbell was paced by their freshman Jada Smith, who had 10 kills, while Da’janelle Will closed out her night with 26 assists.

Game Notes
-In two of their last three matches against one another, Campbell has taken the first set. McDonald, however, has won nine of its last 11 sets that the team has competed against the Red Devils.

-McDonald has won its last seven matches since falling in back-to-back contests to Mineral Ridge and Crestview in the middle of September.

In 2024, McDonald was off to a historic start

-Through Oct. 2, Halle Kuntz has led McDonald with 231 kills; followed by Aubrey Evans (97), Sophia Pecchia (84), Ava Gallo (81) and Ava Salomone (77) as they feature five hitters who’ve compiled 75 kills or more. Salomone has served up 52 aces as well. Miley Titus, the team’s libero, has accumulated 271 digs while Salomone and Grace Klockner have achieved 288 and 259 assists to date.

-Campbell had won seven matches in a row since the Red Devils fell in McDonald on Sept. 9 before dropping a 3-0 match to Mineral Ridge on Thursday.

-As of Oct. 2, Jada Smith – Campbell’s freshman – is closing in on 300-kills for the season as she sits at 286 currently. Elysia Rudolphi and Jayda Coriano both have eclipsed the 150-kill mark with 181 and 163, respectively. Rudolphi leads the team with 64 aces while Da’janelle Will (47), Coriano (40) and Smith (39) are all hovering around 50 kills as well. Will has put together 598 assists this season. Rudolphi (277) and Coriano (263) have each topped the 250 digs mark.
