White still has a huge role to play.

Bucky Irving might be the shining light for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' run game, but for head coach Todd Bowles, Rachaad White still has immense value.
With Irving out with injury, it was White's time to resume the starting role against the Seattle Seahawks, and as expected, he answered the call, rushing for 41 yards and two key touchdowns while also having four receptions for 30 yards to be a weapon in the passing game.
As Irving overtook White as the starter last season, that could be hard for Rachaad to stomach, but he's been the ultimate team player, and as far as having a different role in Josh Grizzard's offense with Bucky the leading weapon, Bowles doesn't think that is the case at all.
“I don't think he's taken a different role,” Bowles said. “I think he's still a lead back. We still see him as a lead back. So, we just have two of them now. He's matured. Obviously, he's played a couple years now. He does his job. He's very professional. He's a great teammate in the locker room and a great team player. He understands how to play the game. He knows how to play the game very well, and we count on him a lot.”

White still a potent weapon for the Buccaneers
Yeah, Irving is the lead guy, but don't forget that White still plays a key role in this offense for Tampa Bay.
His numbers have been down since Irving was drafted, but we often see Baker Mayfield look White's way in big moments, because he knows the fourth year back can handle the pressure.
Just 37 rush attempts, 149 yards, and three touchdowns from five games doesn't jump off the page, but he's only played 138 offensive snaps this season, compared to Irving's 198. So, he hasn't been on the field as much, and is still producing when his number is called.
Bowles sees White as a lead back, and when you have someone who can fill in as he has in Irving's absence, we tend to agree.
