Akron (Ohio) Walsh Jesuit four-star wide receiver Milan Parris has decommitted from Iowa State, he tells me for Rivals.
Parris was an early commit for the Cyclones pledging to be part of their class on January 26, 2025. The big-bodied wideout was the highest-rated commit in the Iowa State class. He had Power-4 offers from Cincinnati, Kentucky, Purdue and Wisconsin at the time of his commitment.
But since then he’s stayed a coveted prospect by other schools. Illinois, Maryland, Miami, Michigan State, Oklahoma and Oregon have offered post-commitment. There could be even more schools to follow now that he’s opening his commitment to explore his options further.
Parris has been very open to speaking with Miami to get to know them better. The Hurricanes also stopped by his school last month. But it’s not just the Hurricanes heavily involved here. Parris took an official visit to Oklahoma the weekend of Oct. 4
Parris will also take an unofficial visit to Miami on Oct. 25 when the Hurricanes take on Stanford.
“The reason I want to check out Miami is they showed a great amount of love,” he said. “The culture down there seems great and the coaches
He may also take a separate trip to Miami just to check it out during the Hurricanes’ bye week.
As a junior last year, Parris caught 28 passes for 597 yards and nine touchdowns. He averaged just about 21.3 yards per reception. The wide receiver has led his Walsh Jesuit squad to a perfect 4-0 start to the 2025 season.
Iowa State suffers another loss
Coach Matt Campbell’s program is known for being early on recruits and having a good eye for talent. But it becomes an issue later on in the recruitment when other schools get involved to poach Iowa State’s commits.
This is the third decommitment of the cycle for Iowa State and all three were big wins for the Cyclones when they committed. Parris joins four-star quarterback Jett Thomalla (Alabama) and three-star safety Brayden Thomas (Michigan State) as players to leave the class.
This is a tough blow for the Cyclones who have now twice lost their highest-rated commitment in the 2026 class.
