Xavier Woods has confirmed he’s staying with WWE for the foreseeable future.
A Fightful Select report noted that Woods and WWE had agreed to terms on a new contract after previously failing to reach an agreement until the last minute. Woods, along with his fellow New Day members Kofi Kingston and Big E, originally signed their extensions in 2019.
It’s safe to assume WWE made adjustments to their contracts to account for injury time. Woods hasn’t had a televised match since September, when The New Day and Grayson Waller lost to Penta and The War Raiders in a No Disqualification match on RAW. He later underwent surgery to remove a lipoma that had grown on the back of his head.
Xavier Woods reacts to reports he re-signed with WWE
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Xavier Woods expressed surprise over reports that he had re-signed with WWE before playfully jabbing at fans.
“How do yall know this stuff? I didnt say anything! But yes. You’re gonna see my sexy face for a while longer even though you dont deserve it. 22 years in the game and about to make the next bit even better than the rest. @WWE #BodyGuy #FaceGuy #ThankGodForTheNewDay,” he wrote.
Woods has been with the company since 2010, winning tag team titles across RAW, SmackDown, and NXT. Fans will have to wait and see what Triple H has planned next for The New Day star.
