Xavier Woods will remain with WWE for the foreseeable future, as the member of The New Day has officially signed a new multi-year contract extension with the company.

According to a report from Fightful Select, the agreement was reached after a negotiation period that came down to the final moments before his previous deal was set to expire. Woods’ re-signing ensures that a key member of one of WWE’s most popular factions is staying put.

The report notes that Woods’ prior contract was scheduled to expire in September 2025, and the new deal was only finalized during that same month. A source cited in the report stated, “The deal came down to the wire and was actually only finalized in September,” indicating that discussions had been ongoing for some time and were concluded just in time to prevent his departure. The successful negotiation keeps the multi-time tag team champion on the WWE roster.

With Woods’ status secured, questions now turn to his long-time partner, Kofi Kingston. There is currently no word on whether Kingston has also signed a similar extension. In 2019, all three members of The New Day, including Big E, signed matching multi-year contracts to ensure the group’s future together. However, the report suggests that unconfirmed time extensions related to injuries may have altered the original expiration dates of those deals, putting the members on different negotiating timelines.

Xavier Woods’ WWE Tenure

The news of Woods’ new contract comes during a period of notable roster changes for WWE, with several other talents recently leaving the company after contract talks fell through. The departures of Jazmyn Nyx, Karrion Kross, and Santos Escobar have highlighted the volatile nature of contract negotiations, making the company’s ability to retain veteran talent like Woods a significant signing.

The New Day has remained one of WWE’s most iconic and marketable factions for nearly a decade, holding numerous tag team championships and creating a lasting connection with WWE fans. By securing Xavier Woods on a new multi-year deal, WWE has ensured that the popular group will continue to be a part of its programming for the next several years.

On current WWE Raw programming, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston are actively competing as a tag team. Meanwhile, the third member of The New Day, Big E, continues his recovery from a serious neck injury he suffered in March 2022. While he has not yet been cleared for a return to in-ring competition, he remains an active ambassador for WWE.
