Tri-Cities, TN — High school District volleyball action continued Tuesday night around the Tri-Cities, and at Happy Valley High School, the District 1-A championship was on the line between West Greene and South Greene.
The Lady Buffaloes and Lady Rebels have already locked in a spot in the upcoming regional, but who stays home and who would have to hit the road was decided when the Lady Rebels won 3-0. Both teams advance to next week’s Region 1A Tournament. South Greene will play Eagleton, and West Greene will play Washburn in the semifinals on Tuesday.
In the District 1-AAA volleyball tournament, top seeds Science Hill and Dobyns-Bennett faced off in the winners’ bracket at West Ridge High School, and this would go 5 sets before the Lady Indians would pull off the 3-2 victory to advance to the finals and lock in a regional spot. Tennessee High (25-9) will face Science Hill at 5:00 Wednesday, with a berth in next week’s Region 1-AAA Tournament on the line.
In the District 1-AA volleyball tournament, Greeneville and host school Sullivan East started the night off, and the Lady Patriots pulled off a mild upset by winning 3-0. In the night gap, Chuckey-Doak faced Elizabethton, and this would go 5 sets before the Lady Cyclones pulled out the 3-2 victory.
Grace Baptist won 8 to 0. Which means we won the first game of our regional tournament. We had five goals scored by Lindsey Williams, one goal scored by Lece Lemmon, Lila Caldwell, and Anarose Kozlowski. Our keeper, Mollie Stewart, saved one shot on goal,
