The New York Yankees aren’t done just yet.

The Yankees rallied after yet another slow start to stun the Toronto Blue Jays 9-6 on Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium. It marked their first win in the ALDS this fall and kept their postseason run safe despite dropping the first two games of the series. They now trail 2-1 heading into Wednesday's Game 4.

The Blue Jays, after two extremely dominant outings in the first two games back in Toronto, picked up right where they left off on Tuesday night — thanks largely to Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

He hit a two-run home run in the first inning to put the Blue Jays on the board immediately. It marked his third straight game with a homer, too.

While the Yankees cut into that lead with a run in the bottom, the Blue Jays put up four in the third inning. Anthony Santander hit a two-RBI single, and Guerrero made it home safely off a Ernie Clement single with a wild airborne dive into the plate.

But that’s when the Blue Jays’ offense shut down. The Yankees slowly chipped away at that lead before Aaron Judge hit a three-run shot deep off the left field foul pole in the fourth inning to suddenly tie the game up. It marked his first home run of the postseason, but his 11th overall hit — which is the most by any player in the field this fall.

Jazz Chisholm added another in the fifth inning, and had a perfect bat drop to go with it, to officially give the Yankees their first lead of the entire series.

By the time it was done and the Blue Jays were able to put together a scoreless inning defensively, the Yankees had put up eight unanswered runs. Any momentum that the Blue Jays had was long gone. From there, the Yankees simply rode out their lead to grab the win. It marked Toronto's first loss of the season after leading by at least five runs in the contest. The Blue Jays were a perfect 39-0 up until this point.

While it wasn’t a good showing for the Blue Jays whatsoever, and they're likely facing a bullpen game on Wednesday, there is some good news for them. They are just a single win away from reaching the ALCS for the first time since 2016, and they’ve got two games to get that done. The Yankees, even with how impressive their rally was, still have a lot of work to do.
