Revealed – What Inter Milan Sporting Director Told Armenia Veteran To Convince Him To Leave Roma

Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio had a phone call with Henrikh Mkhitaryan to convince him to leave Roma for San Siro in 2022.

According to the player’s book via FCInterNews, Ausilio called him to persuade him to depart Stadio Olimpico.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan first landed in Serie A in 2020 after failing to settle at Arsenal.

However, after only two years in the capital, he left the Giallorossi to join Inter Milan on a Bosman deal.

Ausilio reportedly called the Armenian veteran to urge him not to extend his deal with Roma.

Furthermore, he informed him of Inter’s strong desire to sign him. Yet, there was a catch.

Indeed, the Nerazzurri reportedly had to sell Romelu Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi first.

However, those were both done deals, even though Mkhitaryan refused to believe in Ausilio’s words.

“Miki, we would like you to come to us, to Milan,” Mkhitaryan wrote in his book, referring to Ausilio’s call.

“Thank you for this vote of confidence. I’ll enter on May 31, so in the coming days I will have to decide whether to stay in Rome or not.”

“You should wait; before being able to sign you, I must sell two players.

“Director, what if I say yes and then you don’t sell them? I remain without a club.

“We will definitely sell them, we ask you to have patience.” “

“I’d rather not, I don’t want to run the risk of ending up without Roma and without you, in case in the end those two footballers don’t leave.

Since joining the club three years ago, Mkhitaryan has become one of the most valuable Nerazzurri assets.
