Five games to watch in Bucks County high school football Week Eight

Here are five of the best games to watch in high school football in Bucks County during Week Eight of the 2025 season

Seven weeks down and only three to go in the high school football regular season in Bucks County. It's always amazing how quickly it comes and goes.

What will Week Eight bring us? We'll soon find out even earlier than usual as there are two games Thursday.

Here are five of the top games for this coming week in the 2025 high school football season in Bucks County and Eastern Montgomery County, with the rest of the area schedule below.

Neshaminy's Carter Clee attempts to elude Pennridge's Ryan Rowe in a football game at Harry E. Franks Stadium in Middletown on Friday, Oct. 3, 2025.

Souderton (6-1) vs. Council Rock South (6-1), Thursday, 7 p.m. (at CR North)

The winner in this one won't lock up the Suburban One League Continental Conference title, but it'll definitely put themselves in a good place.

Both teams are 4-0 in conference with three conference games (including this one) to play.

Souderton still has to play Council Rock North and Upper Dublin while CR South still has Quakertown and CR North to go.

Souderton, which shared the conference title with Upper Dublin and Quakertown a year ago, is coming off a 56-13 win over Bensalem in which senior quarterback Ben Walsh threw for nearly 300 yards and three scores while senior wide receiver Hunter Smeltz caught seven passes for 143 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The Golden Hawks, who were 4-6 a year ago, dispatched Harry S. Truman 42-7 last week.

Senior linebacker Nate Szydlik, an all-state pick a year ago, scored a touchdown, had a sack and also a pair of tackles for loss in the win.

Last meeting: Souderton defeated Council Rock South 35-6 in 2024.

Pennridge (7-0) at Central Bucks West (5-2) 7 p.m.

The Rams, who are the No. 1 team in the latest PIAA District One Class 6A power-point rankings, stayed undefeated with a 14-7 win over host Neshaminy last week.

Pennridge and No. 2 in district power points Coatesville are the only unbeaten District One Class 6A teams.

Against Neshaminy, the Rams used a second-half touchdown run from senior quarterback Noah Keating and an interception in the end zone from senior Chase Clontz with less than 20 seconds to play to preserve the win.

As for the Bucks, they bounced back from a loss to Neshaminy to top Pennsbury 17-7.

Junior quarterback Josh George threw a pair of late second-quarter touchdown passes to power West to the win.

Last meeting: Central Bucks West defeated Pennridge 38-7 in 2024.

Upper Moreland (5-2) at Wissahickon (6-1) 7 p.m.

This should be a good one between two teams battling for the top spot in the Suburban One League American Conference.

The Golden Bears, 2-0 in conference, are coming off a 44-7 win over William Tennent in which quarterback David Adamski threw three touchdown passes with two of them going to tight end Larry Hughes.

Defensively, Kyle Moore and Santino Rodriguez each had an interception for the Golden Bears.

As for the Trojans, they took perennial SOL American Conference power Plymouth Whitemarsh to overtime before falling 33-27 last week.

Running back Tyree Chambers scored three rushing touchdowns and ran for 96 yards in the loss while Wissahickon put up over 350 yards of total offense.

Last meeting: Upper Moreland defeated Wissahickon 28-27 in overtime in 2024.

Neshaminy (5-2) at Central Bucks East (5-2) 7 p.m.

Both of these teams have visions of competing in the upcoming PIAA District One Class 6A playoffs and the winner here would all but lock up a playoff spot.

Neshaminy, which is 3-1 in the Suburban One League National Conference, is coming off a 14-7 loss to undefeated Pennridge last week in which the Rams needed an interception in the end zone in the game's closing seconds to keep Neshaminy from tying things up.

Senior quarterback Michael Eckart threw for 138 yards and a touchdown in the loss while senior running back Carter Clee ran for 101 yards.

Last week, the Patriots, who are 2-2 in SOL National Conference play, built a big early lead on the way to a 49-7 rout of Abington.

Quarterback Hunter Pulford threw a pair of touchdown passes in the first half and Asher Green added a pair of scores.

Last meeting: Neshaminy defeated Central Bucks East 24-13 in 2024.

Palisades (5-2) at Notre Dame GP (7-0) 7 p.m.

The Pirates snapped a two-game losing streak (Pen Argyl, Blue Mountain) by thumping Palmerton 41-6 last week.

In that win, senior quarterback Jack Trickel ran for three touchdowns to highlight the offense and senior linebacker Max Woerner piled up a game-high 16 tackles while senior teammate Silas Day added 14 stops.

As for the Crusaders, who have two shutouts on the season (over Salisbury and Catasauqua) and are allowing just over nine points a game, they're coming off a 59-7 win over Pen Argyl last week.

Notre Dame GP led just 3-0 in the second quarter last week before the Crusaders erupted for 35 second-quarter points to put the game away.

Senior quarterback Matt Bodnar led the offense with three second-quarter touchdown throws.

Last meeting: Notre Dame GP defeated Palisades 56-7 in 2024.
