There’s a number of solid matchups from California to Michigan and down south to Alabama and Georgia. Here’s a look at the 10 biggest national high school football games you won’t want to miss from Oct. 9-11.
No. 12 DeMatha Catholic (Md.) at Good Counsel (Md.)

It’s been a up and down season for Good Counsel (4-2) as they recently lost back-to-back games before defeating St. Mary’s Ryken, 27-21, last week. The Falcons have one of the top defensive lines in the DMV, led by North Carolina commit David Jackson and junior four-star Anthony Sweeney. DeMatha Catholic (5-0) will challenge the Falcons’ secondary with a trio of talented wide receivers in Joshua Parker, Chace Irvin and Evan Jones, respectively.
Massey Prediction: St. Joseph’s Prep 30, DeMatha Catholic 20

Hawks have already lost four games for the first time since 2011 and are aiming to get back on track. Akron three-star quarterback commit Semaj Bealshas had himself a strong season thus far for the Cahillite, throwing for 1,451 yards, 18 touchdowns and one interception.

Milton junior linebacker Blaize Battaglia leads the team in tackles with 65 stops and six going for a loss. The Red Elephants on the other side features Alabama five-star linebacker commit Xavier Griffin leads the defensive side for Gainesville with 40 tackles, 10 for a loss and four sacks.

Fishers (Ind.) at Westfield (Ind.)
When: Friday, Oct. 10, 8 p.m. ET

It’s not often we sneak in a Indiana high school football matchup, but this one has all the makings of potentially being a really good one when the Shamrocks and Tigers meet on Friday night. Westfield (5-2) bounced back from a loss to Brownsburg and notched a 38-21 romp over Avon. The Shamrocks will lean on their offensive front, led by Division I commits Malachi Mills (Kansas) and Job Maverick (Ohio). Fishers (5-2) has one of the state’s better defenses, with Wisconsin commit Carsen Eloms on the back end.
Massey Prediction: Westfield 36, Fishers 14
DeSoto (TX) at No. 25 Duncanville (TX)
When: Friday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. ET

Both teams began the season with high aspirations, but have seen their respective seasons settle to a simmer in the opening half of the 2025 campaign. The DeSoto Eagles (3-2) have yet another opportunity to pull off a huge victory this week versus the No. 25 nationally ranked Duncanville Panthers (2-1). The Eagles are coming off an impressive last couple of weeks in which they’ve out-scored their opponents 184-24. Last time Duncanville took the field was a 50-3 thumping of a winless Skyline on Sep. 26. Maximus The Great Denson has been solid for the Panthers behind center, throwing for 528 yards and eight touchdowns.
Massey Prediction: Duncanville 41, DeSoto 35
Harper Woods (Mich.) at Saline (Mich.)
When: Friday, Oct. 10, 8 p.m. ET
Where: Horn Stadium, Saline, Michigan
Another state that usually doesn’t get a chance to be seen on the national scene is Michigan and there’s the undefeated tilt between Harper Woods (6-0) and Saline(6-0) taking center stage Friday night. Both teams are looking to remain unbeaten behind their powerful offenses. The Pioneers have one of the best wide receiving corps in the state, led by a pair of four-stars in junior Dakota Guerrant and sophomore Deandre Bidden. On the other side of the spectrum is the Hornets, which feature Miami (Ohio) commit Tommy Carr, who recently threw for over 500 yards and accounted for nine touchdowns in a victory over the Dexter Dreadnaughts.
Massey Prediction: Saline 34, Harper Woods 28
Hillcrest (Ala.) at Thompson (Ala.)

Where: Warrior Stadium, Alabaster, Ala.
The top Alabama high school football game on Friday night is between the Hillcrest Patriots (5-2) and Thompson Warriors (5-2), with the latter being Alabama’s defending Class 7A state champions. Thompson junior quarterback Trent Seaborn has been the steady hand behind center for the Warriors as the passer has already thrown for 1,844 yards and 18 touchdowns this season. The Warriors soundly defeated the Patriots in a 45-20 victory last season.
Massey Prediction: Thompson 42, Hillcrest 7

Florida State four-star quarterback commit Jaden O’Neal leads a potent Broncos’ offensive attack as the senior has thrown for 740 yards and nine touchdowns this fall. O’Neal will be countered by a Trojans’ offense that features junior four-star offensive tackle Odaefe Oruru and senior three-star running back Kaydin Jones.
Massey Prediction: Jenks 48, Mustang 20

No. 6 Mater Dei (6-1) has themselves another difficult road test for the second straight week when they travel to face off against No. 17 Santa Margarita Catholic(5-2). The Monarchs have a high-powered offense led by five-star tight end Mark Bowman (USC commit), five-star wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. (Ohio State commit) and three-star quarterback Ryan Hopkins (Wisconsin), whom will all need to get going early. Former NFL Pro Bowler Carson Palmer has done a fine job in his first season at the helm of his alma mater and looks to lead his Eagles to what would be a second signature win, the other being a 33-27 overtime victory over Corona Centennial.
Massey Prediction: Mater Dei 35, Santa Margarita Catholic 7
