When the news broke on Tuesday afternoon of Lincoln High (Neb.) forfeiting Friday’s contest against defending Class A state champion Millard South due to player injuries sustained the week before, it caught the attention of many around the state. That included the ire of former NFL running back Danny Woodhead, a 10-year veteran.
Woodhead sounded off on Tuesday evening on X regarding the state of high school football in the Cornhusker State coming off the news of the Lincoln forfeit to Millard South.

Lincoln was entering the game with a respectable 4-2 record up against state powerhouse Millard South, which have been the most dominant team in Nebraska high school football this season. The Patriots have out-scored their first six opponents by a combined 391-17 and the offense is averaging a ridiculous 65.1 points per game this season.
Woodhead played in the NFL from 2008-2017, totaling over 4,500 all-purpose yards and scoring 32 touchdowns throughout the course of his professional career playing for the New York Jets, New England Patriots, Los Angeles Chargers and Baltimore Ravens.
