Everton defender James Tarkowski (32) has committed his future to the club by signing a two-year contract extension, keeping him at Goodison Park until June 2028, Sky Sports has reported.

The 32-year-old centre-back, who joined the Toffees from Burnley in 2022, has been an ever-present figure through turbulent seasons on Merseyside and remains a cornerstone of David Moyes’ new-look side.

Tarkowski expressed pride and renewed ambition after extending his stay: “I’m super excited and proud to be an Everton player and to continue this journey. It’s been a crazy few years with some big lows and some massive highs, but we’ve managed to get through those tough times. Hopefully now we’re on to more positive and exciting times ahead.”

Tarkowski praised Moyes’ influence since returning to the club, hailing the Scot’s clarity of vision and the team’s improved consistency. “I’ve loved every minute so far of working under the manager. He’s made it clear where we’re going with this club. The reason I’ve signed is because I want to be a part of that,” he added.

Everton have shown signs of resurgence under Moyes, and securing Tarkowski’s leadership at the heart of defence underscores the club’s commitment to long-term stability and growth.
