The Dallas Cowboys are hoping to get wide receiver CeeDee Lamb back sooner rather than later.
Lamb, who is dealing with a high-ankle sprain, has missed each of the past two games as he works his way back. Lamb didn't show any progress last week after Dallas' top wideout didn't practice at all.
However, there was some good news to report on Wednesday, as Lamb was spotted outside doing rehab work on a side field. This is the first time Lamb has been seen outside since suffering his injury in Week 3.
"Tyler Booker and CeeDee Lamb going through rehab for high ankle sprains," ESPN's Todd Archer reported. "Positive injury news."
While this is all good news, there is still doubt about Lamb's ability to return this soon.
He was initially given a three-to-four week timeline and has only missed two games, so it stands to reason he could be out in Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers and Week 7 against the Washington Commanders.
However, we would suspect Lamb will only miss one more game, at most, given the news on Wednesday and the fact that he hasn't been placed on injured reserve. Just a guess, though.
On Tuesday, Stephen Jones touched on Lamb's injury and revealed he expected him back in the next two weeks, which tracks with the aforementioned timeline.
"Stephen Jones says on [105.3 The Fan] that CeeDee Lamb, Tyler Booker, Tyler Smith, Tyler Guyton and KaVontae Turpin are in a group that is possible to be back in the next two weeks," Tommy Yarrish of DallasCowboys.com reported.
The Cowboys will drop their first injury report of the week later in the day, so we'll get an exact participation level for Lamb then, but he's going to be limited, at best. Still, that would be a sign of progress.
