The Jacksonville Jaguars have made a dramatic change to the team's secondary.
The Jaguars are sending cornerback Tyson Campbell and the Eagles' 2026 seventh-round pick to the Cleveland Browns for CB Greg Newsome and the Jets' 2026 sixth-round pick, a league source confirmed to the Times-Union late Wednesday night. ESPN's Adam Schefter was first to break the news.
Newsome himself confirmed the news to Jaguars fans via social media.

The move comes just over a year after the franchise inked the former second-round pick to a four-year, $76.5 million deal, making him one of the NFL's highest-paid corners in the league. The deal included $53.4 million guaranteed, with additional incentives to bring the deal worth over $19.3 million per year.
Campbell's deal included a $16 million signing bonus, according to OverTheCap.com.
Newsome, 25, is currently playing on the fifth-year option, worth $13,377,000. He was originally drafted by the Browns out of Northwestern in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, selected just seven slots ahead of Campbell. Newsome will be an unrestricted free agent after this season, barring a new deal.
In 47 starts and 59 games played, Newsome has totaled 178 tackles (140 solos), 37 pass breakups, three interceptions and six tackles for loss in his career.
Tyson Campbell's Jaguars career marred by injuries, inconsistency
Campbell had been a starter with the Jaguars since being drafted at the top of the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
Campbell's best season came during the 2022 campaign. The former Georgia corner played in all 17 games and graded out as one of the league's top corners after posting 15 pass breakups, three interceptions, 70 tackles (55 solos) and one forced fumble.
Since then, Campbell has missed 11 games through the 2023 and 2024 campaigns. Though he sustained multiple injuries that forced him to miss games, Campbell quickly became one of the most respected players in the team's locker room.
Still, Campbell's absence led to other players receiving opportunities and limited his own production. Since posting 25 pass breakups in 2021 and 2022, combined, Campbell has accounted for just 16 over the last three years combined.
