SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The Augustana hockey team is gearing up for their season opener on Friday. The Vikings went 18-13-4 last season, ending the year as the two-seed in the CCHA standings. Augie opened this year with an exhibition last Friday that saw a 2-2 tie with St. Cloud State, which was a chance for the entire team to get out on the ice.

“You have the luxury of dressing all of your players, so we had five lines and we played all three goalies. I felt like each line, even if they never played together in the past, they still had that energy,” head coach Garrett Raboin said.

Augustana will play at Minnesota Duluth on Friday and Saturday, before hosting Arizona State on October 17th and 18th.
