Cole Palmer is expected to be back within weeks with November seen as his likeliest return according to journalist Kieran Gill.
Palmer has missed Chelsea’s last three games with a groin injury, which has caused him problems since the Club World Cup.
The England international has already missed six games this season, and has made just four appearances so far this campaign.
Cole Palmer likely to return in November
Enzo Maresca confirmed Palmer would be out until after the international break before the defeat to Brighton last month.
There had been hope Palmer would return for the game against Nottingham Forest on 18th October, and Gill has now provided an update on the situation.

He took to X.com and said:
“New: Cole Palmer’s return is expected within weeks – not days, not months, but weeks – after #CFC diagnosed strained groin which requires no surgery.”
Not having to have surgery is clearly a plus for both player and club, but Matt Law feels the injury to Palmer sounds worrying.
In Palmer’s absence Chelsea have been able to win two of their last three games in all competitions, including Saturday’s last minute win against Liverpool.
Despite the attacking signings made in the summer, the Blues are still heavily reliant on Palmer to produce, and they will be hoping he’s back for the game away at Tottenham at the start of November.
Enzo Fernandez impressing in more advanced role
In Palmer’s absence Enzo Fernandez has been pushed into a more advanced position and has put in some impressive performances, especially against Liverpool.

Maresca tried Facundo Buonanotte in the ten against Benfica, with Estevao getting a run out centrally in the second half of that game.
It’s clear in the bigger games Maresca prefers going with a three man midfield, with Fernandez pushed higher up, and it will be interesting to see what he decides to do against Nottingham Forest.
