Former manager Sam Allardyce believes Chelsea signed someone who has proven to be a top player in the summer window.
The Blues were busy over the summer signing some new players in and selling a whole bunch more as well.

It was an odd window for Chelsea because it was split in two really as they looked to get some new signings in before they played in the Club World Cup. Then the window opened again for the latter part of the summer which was much longer and in this period, Chelsea looked to get some big player sales done as well as tie up any new late arrivals.
One player who came in the first part of the summer window in time to join them and help Chelsea win the Club World Cup, was Joao Pedro from Brighton.
Pedro had a superb Club World Cup for Chelsea and he really burst onto the scene scoring goals for fun really. He has since dropped off slightly, but his quality and talent is clear to see.
Allardyce believes Chelsea signed a proven player in Pedro though.

“I think that over the last few years, he has proven to be a top player who can score goals. I think that is what we all want to see.”
