England pace bowler Olly Stone has signed a new one-year deal with County Championship title winners Nottinghamshire.

Stone's contract extension, which he signed on his 32nd birthday, comes after an injury-hit campaign that saw him also go out on loan to Middlesex in Division Two.

A knee injury required surgery that kept him out for three months, with his last appearance for the Trent Bridge side coming in the T20 Blast in July.

Notts head coach Peter Moores says Stone has shown time and again that he will be a "valuable part of our future".

"Olly's had a tough couple of years with injuries, but anyone that watched him play for England last year saw the real potential when he's fully fit," Moore told the club website.

"The hard work that he's put in behind the scenes this season has shown just how motivated he is to play for this club."

Stone has taken 34 wickets for Nottinghamshire since joining the club from Warwickshire in 2023.

Across his career, which started at Northamptonshire, the fast bowler has claimed 319 wickets in all formats.

He has featured 16 times for England, with five of those appearances coming on the Test stage.

"The backing of Peter Moores, Kevin Shine, and all the coaching staff has enabled me to continue to develop, and I still have aspirations to play at the highest level," Stone said.

The new deal for Stone comes after the 22-year-old all-rounder Sammy King and wicketkeeper Dane Schadendorf, 23, were released by Notts.

Schadendorf made 30 appearances across first-class and List A competitions, while King made eight appearances in white-ball games.
