Kalshi continues to add new sportsbook-style sports event contracts, posting several over/under markets ahead of the Thursday night NFL game between the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants. Users fear, though, that it might have suspended offering parlays.

These new markets include:

  • Passing yards
  • Receiving yards
  • Rushing yards
  • Touchdowns

Trading was light on these markets as of Thursday morning.

These markets have yet to be launched for any other Week 6 NFL game.

Several users, meanwhile, were concerned that Kalshi might have suspended its parlay optionality. Multiple customers in a chat function noted that they’d been unable to find “combos” for Week 5 of the NFL season, and some that did said they’d failed to post. Another, however, noted that they’d been successful finding them just before the Monday Night Football (MNF) game.

Impactful, not voluminous

A loss of same-game parlays, which may have brought in less than $2,000 in fees, might disgruntle Kalshi customers but thrill Wall Street investors. The stocks of leading sportsbooks DraftKings and FanDuel lost almost $7 billion in value in response to the launch last week for MNF.

The reasoning: With much-improved betting volume, Kalshi would be able to offer better odds than the United States’ market share duopoly, thus cutting into DraftKings’ and FanDuel’s profits.

The same-game parlays came a month after Kalshi self-certified with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission to offer multi-leg markets. The company launched pre-built parlays just before Week 1.
