Updated Saints record prediction for 2025, with game-by-game picks

With improved health, sharper execution, and the continued emergence of their young talent, the Saints are shaping up as a scrappy, resilient group:

Last week’s prediction of a New Orleans Saints win over the New York Giants came to fruition, as they secured a 26-14 victory behind a dominant defensive showing that forced five consecutive turnovers. Offensively, quarterback Spencer Rattler delivered another efficient performance, continuing to show real consistency through the first five weeks of the season.

As Week 6 approaches, the Saints will look to build on that momentum when they face the New England Patriots -- fresh off a statement win against the previously unbeaten Buffalo Bills.

There’s a growing sense of confidence within this Saints team after such an encouraging outing, but the true challenge will be sustaining that standard over a stretch of games. That’s ultimately what separates playoff contenders from pretenders when January rolls around.

With improved health, sharper execution, and the continued emergence of their young talent, the Saints are shaping up as a scrappy, resilient group that won’t go down easily. If they maintain this trajectory, they could end up stacking more wins than anyone anticipated.

Here's our updated game-by-game prediction for the New Orleans Saints with the remaining 13 games on their schedule:

Week 6: vs. New England Patriots

Fresh off a huge win over the Buffalo Bills, the Patriots enter this matchup with confidence -- and that makes it tough to pick the Saints outright. Still, given their improved play and the energy surrounding this group, expect New Orleans to fight hard and make this one closer than most would think.

Prediction: LOSS (1-5)

Week 7: @ Chicago Bears

I still think the Saints find a way to get it done in Chicago. Kellen Moore should empty the playbook in what figures to be a chess match between two of the league’s brightest offensive minds in Moore and Ben Johnson.

Not to mention, this one carries some personal meaning for Spencer Rattler -- facing off against Caleb Williams, the quarterback who once replaced him at Oklahoma. Expect Rattler to come into this matchup locked in and ready to make a statement.

Prediction: WIN (2-5)

Week 8: vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Man... Emeka Egbuka alone might beat the Saints the way he's playing right now. I'll take Tampa while they're hot.

Prediction: LOSS (2-6)

Week 9: @ Los Angeles Rams

Super tough two-game stretch against two of the league's top offenses. The Rams will be too much for the Saints defense.

Prediction: LOSS (2-7)

Week 10: @ Carolina Panthers

I had this one down as a loss earlier in the year, but I’m changing my mind. After back-to-back defeats, the Saints should bounce back and snag a much-needed win over Carolina heading into the bye.

Prediction: WIN (3-7)

Week 11: Bye

Week 12: vs. Atlanta Falcons

Keeping this one marked as a loss coming off the bye. Bijan Robinson should be tough to contain the first time around, especially with the number of receiving weapons Atlanta has at its disposal.

Prediction: LOSS (3-8)

Week 13: @ Miami Dolphins

Changing this one to a win for the Saints. Last week’s comeback loss to Carolina was a deflating blow for a team that’s looked out of sync since Week 1. The absence of Tyreek Hill only makes things that much tougher for Miami, giving New Orleans a real chance to bounce back.

Prediction: WIN (4-8)

Week 14: @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Dec 28, 2014; Tampa, FL, USA; Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans hold up a sign saying

I’m also flipping this one to a loss for the Saints. Tampa Bay is playing excellent complementary football right now, and that balance should carry them through. I think it’ll be a close game, but the Bucs ultimately find a way to close it out late.

Prediction: LOSS (4-9)

Week 15: vs. Carolina Panthers

I’m switching this one back to a win for the Saints. Bryce Young and the Panthers’ offense have eclipsed 200 passing yards only once this season, which doesn’t exactly strike fear into opposing defenses. With the Saints’ young defensive backs gaining more confidence each week, I believe they’ll once again find a way to neutralize Carolina’s offense.

Prediction: WIN (5-9)

Week 16: vs. New York Jets

The Jets should give the Saints some problems in terms of Justin Fields ability to escape and extend plays with his legs. They should have a tough time with him this game. I'll take New York.

Prediction: LOSS (5-10)

Week 17: @ Tennessee Titans

Still believe that by this point, Cam Ward and the Titans offense will be playing their best football. Sticking with Tennessee.

Prediction: LOSS (5-11)

Week 18: @ Atlanta Falcons

Keeping the split here, Saints should catch Atlanta in the season finale after seeing them already and finish with some positive momentum heading into offseason.

Prediction: WIN (5-12)
