A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona could be fielded in a new-look role on the far side of the international break.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Marcus Rashford as the player in question.
Barcelona, of course, are fresh off something of a week to forget.
After first being condemned to a first defeat of the term at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain, the Blaugrana were then put to the sword once more on Sunday, on this occasion in alarming fashion at Sevilla.
And the manner of his sie’s two losses has evidently not been at all lost on Hansi Flick.
This comes amid confirmation that the German tactician is considering shaking up his frontline, in a bid to get back on track.
As per a report from MD:
‘Hansi Flick and his staff are considering some changes for the team’s return to competition. One consideration for the manager and his assistants is to place Marcus Rashford in the number 9 position.’
The on-loan Rashford has of course thoroughly impressed of late, from his berth on the left flank.
But the coaching staff in Barcelona are nevertheless ready to move the Englishman into a more central role, upon the respective returns to fitness of Raphinha and Lamine Yamal.
