With several players away on international duty and the available first-team members on holiday, only the injured Barcelona stars continue to train at Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, working on their recovery.
Of all the injured players, Fermin Lopez appears to be the closest to making a return, having stepped up his training efforts in recent days.
Fermin on track to return against Girona
Indeed, the 22-year-old attacking midfielder is the one furthest along in his recovery. He has increased the intensity of his individual training sessions on the pitch and, as such, is expected to be available for the match against Girona.
Fermin suffered a muscle injury late in the game against Getafe last month and was expected to be out for three weeks.
As a result of the injury, the La Masia graduate ended up missing the matches against Real Oviedo, Real Sociedad, PSG, and Sevilla.

But his return now appears to be ever so close as he has made great progress in his recovery, confirmed by the video released by the club earlier today.
In the clip, Fermin could be seen training at full intensity on the pitch, wearing boots and working with the ball – a clear sign that he is on track to return against Girona right after the international break.
What about the others?
As for the injured stars, there is hope that both Raphinha and Lamine Yamal could also make it back in time to face Girona on 18 October.
Meanwhile, Joan Garcia’s recovery is expected to take slightly longer, with his availability for the Clasico on 26 October a major doubt. Gavi and Marc-Andre ter Stegen remain long-term absentees.
