'College GameDay' headed out west for a top-10 Week 7 matchup

ESPN's "College GameDay" heads west for its Week 7 show. Could we see them make a stop at a Big 12 showdown next?

ESPN's Saturday morning pregame show, "College GameDay," is a staple for many college football fans each weekend. The pregame show will be headed to Eugene, Oregon, this week for the Week 7 matchup between No. 7 Indiana Hoosiers and No. 2 Oregon Ducks. It will be GameDay's first show from Oregon's campus since the Ducks' win over Ohio State last year.

GameDay has been to an SEC school three times, a Big Ten school three times, and an ACC school once. The Big 12 has yet to have the popular pregame show attend one of its 16 programs.

A week ago, GameDay returned to one of its usual locations and attended the Vanderbilt-Alabama game in Tuscaloosa. The Crimson Tide eventually pulled away late, but it was a solid game despite the 30-14 final score.

Nick Saban, Kirk Herbstreit, Rece Davis, Desmond Howard, and Pat McAfee serve as college football experts for GameDay, with a celebrity guest picker also chiming in.

GameDay's coverage will begin at 9 a.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 11, from Oregon's campus and will be televised on ESPN.

  • Week 5: Oregon at Penn State
  • Week 6: Vanderbilt at Alabama
  • Week 7: Indiana at Oregon

Predicting GameDay's Week 8

We predicted this week's selection as a toss-up between Indiana-Oregon and Oklahoma-Texas, and kudos to the show for picking the higher-ranked game instead of the top SEC matchup. GameDay has ample options for Week 8. Ole Miss at Georgia, LSU at Vanderbilt and Tennessee at Alabama seem like the likeliest candidates, but we want to switch it up. The best Big 12 game of the season so far is next week with a ranked Arizona State team hosting a top-10 Texas Tech squad. If GameDay wants to end its streak of not attending Big 12 games, then next week's game in Tempe seems like the top option.
